After years of follow-up observation and monitoring, the wild behavior of milu deer has been continuously recovered. They have strong recognition ability and consciousness of natural protection in the field. They have successfully born in complete natural conditions for three consecutive years and all of them have survived. The successful return of milu deer to nature has basically realized the construction goal of harmony between man and nature and the balance between social environment and ecological environment, which has become a milestone in the process of milu deer protection in the world.

From 2006 to 2008, the milu deer reserve conducted deep observation on the milu deer in the relatively concentrated and scattered areas of the country. It was found that the milu deer lived in the forest on the mountain, one female milu deer lactated three young deer at the same time, and the milu deer ate a large number of rice grass. These three major discoveries are new breakthroughs in the study of milu deer in China, and have important practical significance for promoting the development of China's wildlife protection and promoting the research of related disciplines.
The nature reserve is rich in biodiversity. There are 12 kinds of mammals, 27 kinds of amphibians and reptiles, 315 kinds of birds, 599 kinds of insects and 499 kinds of plants. Among them, more than 30 kinds of national first and second class protected animals, such as Red Crowned Crane, black Headed Gull, swan, white tailed sea eagle and Swertia deer, are also increasing year by year. The increase of bird species and number is particularly prominent. The natural ecological environment of the reserve has been improved continuously, and the efficiency of the Yellow Sea wetland has been fully demonstrated.

Stone carvings of Milu's primitive calligraphy
The world's longest stone carving calligraphy corridor with the theme of elk culture. The total length is 42 meters and the height is 3.9 meters. 39 pieces of black marble are inlaid in the simple corridor. It means that the descendants of 39 milu deer are full of fragrance and long. The full text of this book was written by Ma Lianyi, a famous scholar of Milu culture in China, and written in cursive by Zhang Chongguang, a famous calligrapher in China. It records in classical Chinese the origin of elk species, coexistence with the ancestors, hundreds of groups, whether to break up or not, living in the garden, wandering in a foreign land, emerging from nowhere, returning to the native land and rejuvenating the population in classical Chinese. It is a collection of calligraphy, stone carvings, fine arts and history, and has high cultural appreciation value.
